Toxic and abusive relationships are more challenging than being a single parent. Your mind must send a message to your heart to walk away from harmful entanglements, to be free.

Wake up! It is time to make the most important New Year’s Resolution of all. Years have passed, and yet you still live in a toxic environment. It doesn’t seem to be getting better anytime soon. Sadly, the abuse continues.

Consider how long you have been in a dysfunctional relationship. As a parent, it is your responsibility to examine how this situation may negatively impact your children. When such a savage event is too much to bear, put on your boots, and get ready to walk.

It is dangerous and frightening for someone to be attacked physically, mentally, emotionally, and verbally by an abusive partner. Nevertheless, many people might argue that it is difficult for a person in a domestic abuse situation to leave.

In any case, it is the safest thing to do. If in doubt, consult a trusted friend, relative, or professional. Stay strong, stay firm, and walk away from your abuser.

The first step can lead to a more secure and healthier life. Create an action plan. Obtain all the information you need to get started. If you leave something behind, you may need to replace it; or make do with what you have. As a result, it is crucial to pack or gather as many essentials as possible.

Decide how and when you will carefully prepare your escape. One can imagine that leaving an abusive relationship is not an easy task. Ensure you are not alone on your departure day.

Be smart and plan a safe exit with your children.

Ignore the many excuses. Stay focused and courageous. Your children have yet to meet you. It is almost impossible for a parent to be true when struggling in pain and brokenness.

Furthermore, a child raised in an emotionally distressed relationship constantly wonders what you are like when you’re no longer experiencing pain and sadness.

You don’t have to be afraid of taking the first step. Believe you can do it. A better and safer future awaits you. Parenting, in general, can indeed be demanding. Regardless you are not alone. The good news is that there are many helpful solutions.

We all know, moving into a new place sometimes has its challenges. However, if you are well informed, assistance is available. Additional close family members and friends may also be able to help. Without changes, in the end, staying in a violent relationship can be deadly.

Yes, it takes courage and strength to leave an abusive relationship. Nonetheless, such a decision may save a life. It could be yours.

Having experienced the entire ordeal, children will appreciate your sacrifices more. As a parent, you have given them the gift of seeing another day. Ultimately, only you can fit into your boots.

Your New Year’s decision awaits.
