A kind gesture can spread joy and positivity. It only takes a small gesture to make the day brighter. Occasionally, however, we receive the opposite of kindness, leaving us disappointed. Despite this, we should always practice kindness and encourage others to do the same.

Even though my alarm buzzed off at 6 a.m., I was still tired. I bargained with myself for an extra minute of sleep. As a result, I slept sixty minutes more.

I started my busy Monday late. As I drove through the city, I closely monitored the gas gauge. “It was time to refill my tank,” I whispered. “Soon I will stop at the nearest gas station to purchase gas.”

Many of us can relate to driving through the streets and saying, “I will stop at the next gas station.” We may also say, “Oh no, I am late for my appointment and will stop on my way back.”

Regardless, I spend a lot of time driving on the road. I should have known better.

My vehicle suddenly slowed down on the way home. The car had little power. There were no more excuses; it was time to pull into the nearest gas station.

I barely made it to the gas station. “Pay Before You Pump” was posted above the fuel dispenser. Most gas stations display this sign.
