Bye Bye Justin Trudeau
No, he is not King David
David knew he could not defeat Goliath because he was too young. Even so, he knew something others did not. His strength comes from God.
Despite the giant’s immense size and strength, David faced him with remarkable faith, courage, and bravery. Therefore, he won.
As Justin Trudeau gave his resignation speech, something inside me shifted. Quote: “The country deserves a real choice in the next election. It has become clear to me that if I have to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in the upcoming election”. Trudeau released his statement.
What does King David have to do with politics? You asked.
Justin Trudeau’s resignation speech reminded me of David’s biblical story. Yes! Internal battles can make winning impossible unless one is anointed, like David.
God was more than enough for David. He was the majority. In our current world, in addition to the highest power, we need the support of people and strong leadership to succeed.
I am not against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Therefore, I salute him for becoming Canada’s twenty-third prime minister. I am also grateful for his nine years of leadership and unwavering commitment to the Liberal Party.
I am sorry he had to leave in such a manner.
At least he got out before his gorgeous hair turned grey.
We are humans. Some of us know what it is like to stand alone and make decisions that feel right but ultimately fail.
I admire the prime minister’s strength and selflessness. Taking a step back isn’t a defeat. Leadership sometimes requires us to take a backseat for the greater good.
