Understanding ‘WHY’ Is The Key To The Truth
How often do we ask why?
We live in a world where leaping to conclusions is easy.
Asking “WHY?” fosters compassion and clarity. As a result, we establish meaningful and trusting relationships.
By asking about a decision, it gives insight into other perspectives. Taking this approach helps us move past assumptions and judgments.
In New York City, my childhood friend and I sipped iced tea on her veranda. During our conversation, we shared stories from our past.
The bright sunshine raises our spirits. Street traffic honks at our laughter.
Surrounding us was a gentle breeze that carried the smell of food from nearby houses. It teased our senses. It was a perfect day.
Suddenly, my friend asked me a question that hardly anyone asks: WHY?
Most people do not ask why, assuming they already know the answer.
There was unexpected silence. The laughter subsided.
Why did you leave? She asked.
